Despite weighing just a few grams, the headphones have long-lasting batteries that offer eight hours and fifteen minutes of runtime at higher volumes. The Soundcore by Anker Life P2 Mini come with a charging case weighing only 39 grams, in which they can be fully charged twice and then by another 60 percent. Thus, a total runtime of 30 hours could be achieved in our test. Charging the earcups takes 45 minutes. The fact that you cannot see when the batteries are charged from the outside is not ideal, but the Life P2 Mini is equipped with a practical quick-charge function. This allows for two hours and 20 minutes of use after ten minutes of power. The case has a USB-C port and is fully recharged in two and a quarter hours via the included charging cable. Progress is visible at all times thanks to three LEDs. The Soundcore by Anker Life P2 Mini, which can also be used individually in single mode, can be paired as soon as the charging case is opened. This turns the system on and automatically puts it into pairing mode, while the earphones turn off when they are put back into the case. The in-ears can also be turned on and off manually by pressing the earbuds’ touch-sensitive surfaces. This is a good feature, as it conserves the batteries and increases their lifespan by not having to constantly recharge them after each use. The Bluetooth connection was also very stable, lasting in multiple rooms and providing a long range of up to twelve meters in an urban environment. When a wireless connection is established, a double tap starts and pauses playback; this is possible on both sides and is also used to answer calls. A short press ends or rejects calls. Track selection is done by briefly holding the right earpiece, and you can skip forward and back with the left one. If you want to communicate with a voice assistant, you can call it up by tapping the left earcup three times. On the right, three taps toggle between the Soundcore by Anker Life P2 Mini’s three EQ modes, and overall the touch controls respond reliably and without lag. However, volume control was omitted, so it has to be done via a voice assistant or on the device itself.
