Method 2: How to View Instagram DMs in Chrome
It is much easier to view the messages on Google Chrome. And the best part is, you don’t need any other settings. A simple extension will do trick The advantage these extensions have over specialty apps and tools is that they work like emulators. And thus you get the same experience as the DM section on you phone but on a bigger screen.
The extension I found most useful was aptly named Direct Message for Instagram. As we mentioned above, it almost replicates the look of the Instagram app. Go to Get instant message for Instagram Once you’ve added the extension to Chrome, it doesn’t need a separate login. If you are logged into your profile, choose the extension up the login details of your browser. When you’re done, click on the little DM-shaped icon in your browser and bam! Hello, Instagram.
Now all you have to do is click on the DM icon and you are ready to start chatting. Apart from that, you can send hearts, images and emojis. Moreover, you can also like older posts. Unfortunately, the option to send GIFs and stickers is missing. In addition, you can also block or report an account or create a group chat from the small window.
Unlike IG: dm, you can also see the message requests. Not only that, with Direct Message for Instagram you can also allow or deny the request. What I loved about the Direct Message extension for Instagram is that it is clean and clear. There are no ads and you don’t need to install any third-party tools to send emojis. Just click the icon if you need to check your DMs and click outside the window when you are done with your work. Yes, it is that simple.

Of course, these two aren’t the only two tools on the market for viewing Instagram DMs. There are also other tools, such as Web for Instagram Plus DM. Visit Web for Instagram Plus DM.
