Send your location to a contact
WhatsApp lets you send photos and videos to contacts, as well as share a contact or document, but you can also send your location. This is very useful if you are meeting a friend somewhere, especially if you choose to Share Live location, which allows your contact to see your live location for the duration you choose so they can track you. Duration times are set to 15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours. iOS: Chat > Specific chat > Tap “+” on the left of the message box > Location > Share Live location > Select time period. Android: Chat > Specific chat > Tap the clip to the right of the message box > Location > Share Live location > Select time period. You can see everyone you are sharing your live location with by opening Settings > Account > Privacy > Live Location.
Use WhatsApp on multiple devices
No, we’re not talking about WhatsApp Web. Instead, the Facebook-owned company has started testing multi-device support in WhatsApp for some beta testers. Basically, you can use WhatsApp on more than one device without the limitations of WhatsApp Web. You will be able to connect other devices to your WhatsApp account by going to the Linked Devices section in WhatsApp settings. You can read our article on WhatsApp multi-device support to learn more. This is definitely one of my favorite WhatsApp tricks.
Find who you talk to the most
Have you ever wondered who you chat with the most daily on WhatsApp? This free whatsapp trick makes discovery easier. Just go to Settings > Data and Storage Usage > Storage Usage and select a contact to see how you chat with them. The list is organized according to the person you send the most data to, so if there’s a friend you send a lot of GIFs to, but not much else, they might beat another friend you text. Either way, it’s best to have a look at who catches your eye the most. Statistics are reduced to messages, photos, GIFs, videos, voice messages and documents.
Use bold, italic and strikethrough text in WhatsApp chats
You can make your WhatsApp text messages more interesting – and better convey your views – by using bold text, italics and even striking out the text with a strikethrough. For bold text, just add an asterisk on each side of the word or phrase. Adding an underscore to either side of a word or phrase creates italicized text. To strike out text, add a ~tilde~ on each side of the word or phrase.
Using WhatsApp on PC
So you don’t drain your phone’s by simply chatting on WhatsApp, you can take your conversations to a computer. you just need to open up the app normally and tap the three dots in the upper right corner. Then, on WhatsApp Web, the app will ask you to go to the WhatsApp Web site. You can do this by following this link, where you will see a QR code. So, you will have to use your smartphone camera to scan the QR code you will see in the browser! From now on, if you go to WhatsApp Web page in this web browser, you can find all your chats. Just remember not to do this on a PC that is public or owned by someone else.
Quickly delete all photos, GIFs, videos, messages or stickers from a given chat
You can delete all messages, photos or videos, GIFs, contacts, locations, voice messages, documents and stickers in a chat. For example, you can delete all messages in a specific chat or group chat, but leave all photos. iOS and Android: Settings > Storage & Data > Manage Storage > Select Contact > Manage > Select > Check the boxes next to what you want to delete (videos or images) > Tap the trash can to delete. It is possible to sort by which files are taking up the largest number of rooms, the newest and the oldest if you tap the circle in the lower left corner after tapping the contact.
Transfer WhatsApp conversations between Android and iPhone
One of the biggest issues you may face when switching smartphones is the fact that WhatsApp doesn’t natively support transferring your chats between Android and iPhone. Of course, there are ways to transfer WhatsApp data between iPhone and Android, but the company is supposed to bring the feature on WhatsApp natively soon. when that feature is available (which will be soon, I hope), you can transfer your chats from iPhone to Android and vice versa. It’s unclear how this will work, but it looks like you’ll have to use a cable to transfer chats between Android and iPhone.
Archive your chats
In the past, you could use a special app called Kibo to enable a form of secret WhatsApp chat. This secret messaging app method no longer exists, which means keeping your chats private is a little more complicated. Your best method is to archive your chats regularly. When you archive a chat, it doesn’t delete it forever, but hides it from the main window, making it harder for someone to see at a glance. To archive a chat on iOS, swipe from right to left in a chat window and tap Archive. On Android, long press the chat and tap the file folder to send it that way.
Broadcast a personal WhatsApp message to multiple contacts
You may not know this, but if you have WhatsApp set up on your smartphone, you no longer need the SIM card to use it. This means that if it breaks or gets damaged in any way, you can still use this app without any problems. if you need to define up WhatsApp on another device, you will need to use the SIM card. But it doesn’t necessarily have to be on the device you will be using WhatsApp on. And, if the SIM card is permanently damaged, you can simply use the first one of our WhatsApp tips and tricks to change the number to a working one and then set it up!
Change automatic image/video save preferences for specific chats
You can also change automatic image and video preferences for specific chats. You may want to ensure that images are always saved from your family, for example, while you prefer not to have all the images from a group chat in your gallery or camera list. All chats are set to default (off) unless you change them individually, but there is the option to always save images and videos of a contact or never save them.
