1. Hide stories from specific people
The reason to use Instagram Stories is endless. Whether it’s a clothing company selling its new collection or a celebrated underwater photographer showcasing his latest shots, Instagram Stories has proven time and time again that it’s not just another content-sharing platform.
And the same is true for most of us – whether it’s uploading a story from our road trip or from a rainy afternoon – everything ends up be part of an Insta Story. But then, you wouldn’t always want your Instagram Stories to be visible to everyone. So what do you do? Easily. Hide them. Go to your profile and tap Options> Story settings and select the people you want to temporarily block. Tap Done and you’re done! Can people see if you screenshot their photos on Instagram?
2. Send disappearing photos and videos
Yes, the Snapchat inspired feature is also on Instagram. You can send photos and videos to your friends that disappear after your friends have viewed them.
All you need to do is swipe right on it home page and take a photo or record a video. Alternatively, you can also tap the jetplane-like icon in the top right corner, tap the following icon and select your contacts. And comparable to the Snapchat feature, Instagram will also tell you if the recipient grabbed a screenshot of your photo.
3. Save original photo
Uploading images and videos in their native resolution results in high data consumption. That’s the reason many of the social media platform only upload images in a lower resolution. However, if you want to keep the original image, that’s also possible by tweaking the settings a bit.
Go to Options in your profile and scroll down to Settings. Toggle the Save Orginal Photos switch to turn it on feature
4. Apply more than one filter
If you don’t have a preference for using third party image editing apps, you can use the above feature to apply more than one filter to your photo. Just like any other Instagram post, edit the photo just before you add the Share button and move it phone to airplane mode. This will kill the process, resulting in a failed upload. Discard the message and start editing according to your wishes and ShareThat’s all. No third-party apps at all, you see. Check out these 5 Cool Apps to Improve Your Instagram Stories
5. Turn off comments
Instagram has given much better control over who can comment on your posts. So if you just shared a nice quote but don’t want the world to share its opinion about it, just turn the comment off feature for that specific message.
Select an image, tap the three-dot menu and select Disable comment. Alternatively, before hitting Share, you can tap Advanced features to access the same feature
